I mentioned on Instagram a while back that my mom fell and broke her spine, which led to 6 weeks of her being out from work and stuck at home. (It was honestly a miracle that she wasn't paralyzed!) In those weeks of her being at home and with limited mobility, I and the kids got to visit her almost every day. In the first few visits, I hated having to leave her at lunch time to go put the kids down for naps at my house, so I started letting them nap in her house (Emma in a pack-n-play and Aiden in my parents' bed).

Suddenly, this gave my mom and I a few kid-free free hours together in the afternoon!! We watched all of Working Moms together on Netflix, we looked up dream houses for me + Devin to buy, and we sipped our afternoon tea. The very first time I had Constant Comment tea was while my mom and I hung out one afternoon while the kids slept peacefully, and I'll never forget it! We laughed really hard at her craziest Uber experiences (I know, she's so with it!), and we enjoyed the tea that was full of surprising, delicious flavors. We tried guessing what some of the ingredients were--cinnamon? orange zest?--like it was a fancy wine tasting and not just us sitting on the couch sipping tea at naptime haha.

The next time I was at Walmart, I grabbed another box of it for myself (with my little sidekicks along, of course!). I am genuinely IN LOVE WITH THIS TEA!! Another thing I love about Bigelow's Constant Comment besides the fact it actually tastes amazing is that is family-operated with 3 generations, and that it's made here in the U.S. (including the foil packaging for extra freshness, quality, and ingredients.) This week, my mom started back to work a few hours a day (rocking her back brace that keeps her still-healing vertebrae stabilized!), and I'm a little sad we won't have our lunch bunch + naptime hangs. But she's thrilled to be allowed to drive again and get back to work.

Even in spite of a painful injury with a long road to being fully recovered, there have been positives, like our time together (and getting to take these fun photos on her last full day home before going back to work!). Before her injury, we saw each other a few times a month because everyone's schedules were just so crazy. Getting a family dinner on the calendar with my mom, dad, brother, and sister was really tough! Which is why I'm so, so grateful for the weeks my mom and I got to spend sipping tea while she was resting and healing and taking it easy. 😊
