Month #11? That's right, I took it real quick during a nap because I was sure he was going to crawl away like he tried in Month 10.
Dear Aiden,
Last year we were meeting for the first time and you were a squawking, squishy little newborn whose diapers were horrific but magically didn't smell bad. Here you are one year later, laughing and smiling and DANCING, legitimately DANCING, every time you hear music.
I love your 4-toothed smile, and how happy you are to see me in the morning.
I love the way you closely examine your toothbrush before chewing on it.
I love your bob-and-wave dance moves.
I love that you started cracking yourself up the first time you played Hide-n-Seek with our curtain. Each time you popped out you'd laugh, which made us laugh.
I love your chubby baby arms around my neck, which is the closest thing to snuggling as you'll let me get. 😉
I love that you look exactly like Devin with your blue eyes, cute nose, and light hair. (Though you totally have my ridiculous hair-growing capabilities, which means you've gotten 2 haircuts before your first birthday. If you can grow a beard in 5th grade, you're welcome. Not that I have ever had a beard. But my leg hair makes up for it, for sure. Too weird?)
I love that you were born 24 hours after a blizzard. Thanks for not coming when there were still 2 feet of snow in the streets. No matter what he claims, your dad's pick-up truck could NOT have handled it. 😉
I love your sloppy, open-mouthed "besos" aka kisses and how freely you give them.
I love that you're my son, my firstborn son. I can't wait to see who you're going to be as you grow up.
